Harmony in Voices – Open Choral Workshop

Date: Wednesday, August 27, 2025
Location: Association Premises

Description:
The “Harmony in Voices” workshop is a unique opportunity for all music lovers—whether beginners or experienced singers—to explore the beauty of group singing in a warm and supportive environment. This event is designed to help participants discover new vocal techniques, strengthen their confidence, and experience the joy of singing together.

The day will begin at 10:00 AM with a welcome coffee, during which attendees can meet the instructors and fellow participants. The workshop officially opens at 10:30 AM with an introduction to vocal warm-ups led by a professional choir director. These warm-ups will focus on breathing techniques, posture, and vocal placement to ensure every participant can sing comfortably without strain.

By 11:15 AM, the group will move on to harmony-building exercises. Participants will be divided into smaller sections—sopranos, altos, tenors, and basses—depending on their vocal range. The choir director will guide each section separately to help singers learn their parts before blending them into a cohesive harmony.

After a short lunch break at 12:30 PM, the afternoon session will be dedicated to learning and performing two short choral pieces. These will be uplifting and accessible songs chosen to highlight the power of collective voices. Attendees will not need to read sheet music; all learning will be done by ear and repetition.

By 3:00 PM, the workshop will shift to a creative session where participants can experiment with improvisation and group vocal arrangements. This will be a relaxed and fun activity, encouraging everyone to step out of their comfort zone.

The event will conclude at 4:30 PM with a mini-performance for friends, family, and anyone who wishes to attend. The performance will showcase the songs learned during the day, giving participants a real sense of accomplishment.

This workshop is free to attend, and no prior singing experience is required. The only requirements are enthusiasm, willingness to participate, and a love for music. It is an excellent opportunity for community members to connect, share their passion for singing, and discover the joy of making music together.
